Porcelain Mt. Fuji motif Sake Cup by Kama-Irodori
Porcelain Mt. Fuji motif Sake Cup by Kama-Irodori
This sake cup is called a “sorisakazuki” and tends to be either the same or slightly bigger than an ochoko. When stored upside-down, the dripping color creates an image similar to Mt. Fuji! With its height and beautiful appearance, this mountain has long been a symbol of Japan. People have also seen a deity in Mt. Fuji, so the mountain has also been a symbol of happiness and good luck. This leads many to climb it; especially when welcoming another great year and fortune on New Year’s Eve.
This cup is very faithful in it’s similarity to Mt. Fuji. While primarily a sake cup, it’s also good for sipping other drinks like shochu, whiskey, or anything else you’d like to enjoy. Drinking from this cup will definitely bring good fortune during cozy times.
