Hitori Wada’s bold yet delicate creative painting on this piece is captivating.  This Japanese citrus is called yuzu, and here it is impressively drawn in an abstract, out-of-the box style.  Colorful accents add a striking vibrancy to this work, including a gold line painting technique called Kindami. Kindami always brings a piece from ordinary to gorgeous.  It has a lovely beauty and will add a fun artsy touch to your experience when drinking sake from it.

The artist is following in the classical painting techniques inherited from her very talented father who is also a potter. She has incorporated that into her own style of painting, and this has brought her to her current style.  There is beauty in her vividness and her shading is stunning. These things really bring out her individuality.

Coming back to her piece here, we are struck with a powerfulness that is also somehow dainty and touched with mystery.  In addition to her dynamic brush strokes, there is a suppleness to her work that really appeals to many women in Japan and Asia in general, who are passionate about their tableware. Her work, though, appeals to people of all genders and nationalities around the world.
