Porcelain Small Bowl Shaped Plum Blossom

This bowl is so very Japanese in style, we feel, and it’s motif is also very Japanese: a plum flower! The Japanese people hold this flower very dear to our hearts. When you think of Japan, images of Sakura (cherry blossoms) come to mind. However, they are not the only flowering tree that are important to the Japanese. Plum trees, both flower and fruit (“Ume”), have been treasure in Japanese culture throughout our history. (read a little more about the Plum blossom here)

This lovely small bowl is just right for holding seasonings at your table.  However, you could use it for anything! It could be a pretty place to put your rings at night, or maybe even to burn a cone of incense in. The plum blossom shape of this bowl is adorable, and the Oribe green adds to it’s elegance.

* Hot liquid might make the porcelain’s surface hot because of the heat conductivity, please make sure the item is not too hot to burn you before gripping it.
