Blue Tokkuri and Ochoko Kohyo Mino Ware Porcelain
Blue Tokkuri and Ochoko Kohyo Mino Ware Porcelain
Set of a tokkuri (decanter) and three ochoko.
This minimalist design is stylish and modern. Yet, it is also actually a very authentic Japanese shape for sakeware. Of course, these are primarily sake cups. However, they’re also good for sipping drinks like shochu, whiskey, or any other beverage you’d like to enjoy.
An Ochoko is often included with a tokkuri in sake sets like this set item. A tokkuri is just like a carafe or decanter for wine. Why are they paired in sets? Ochokos are very small and are perfect for having only a sip or two of sake at a time. A tokkuri is handy, then, to keep more servings of sake next to your ochoko.
